Day 1: Arrival

Wajolo wu! Welcome to Uganda. On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your personal driver/guide will be waiting for you outside arrivals. So just look out for DustTrack safaris. He will drive you to your Hotel in Kampala for the night.

Day 2: Shoebill Boat ride, Night Game Drive

After an early breakfast (06:30) you will be picked up by your private car and driver and transferred to Mabamba Swamp. Here in the morning is the best time to see the Shoebill and numerous aquatic bird life while on a wooden Canoe ride. You will then drive to Lake Mburo National Park Lunch will be en-route. On arrival, check in and rest for later, you will go for a night game drive in the hope of spotting the nocturnal wildlife like the Bush Baby and elusive Leopard.

Day 3: Morning Game Walk, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Early in the morning, your driver will pick you up and drive to the Park for a morning Game walk, an activity that will take you through the grass lands accompanied by an armed ranger to view wildlife on foot. Return to have breakfast before checking out. Drive straight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park. Rest up for tomorrow is Gorilla tracking day.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking

Ensure you have your breakfast by 7:00 am, have your lunch packed, dress up in a light long sleeved shirt, trousers, comfortable walking shoes, a light rain jacket. Also carry thick hand gloves, enough drinking water and a sun hat is optional. The tracking starts at 8:00 am and could take anytime from 2 hours to a full day depending on the location of the Gorillas. After tracking, your driver will be waiting for you, for the drive you back to your hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Boat ride, Island tour, Birding

Enjoy your breakfast then your driver will drive you to Muko where a boat will be waiting to pick you up. As your driver drives on to Lake Bunyonyi, you will do a boat cruise, visiting the islands including the punishment where in days past, unmarried girls who got pregnant were abandoned to die. There are also lots of birds to be seen. The boat will take you all the way to the landing site where you will meet your driver to take you to the hotel. Lake Bunyonyi is the perfect place for you to relax with a breathtaking scenery after tracking. So, enjoy.

Day 6: Quad Bike Community Tour

Today is a relaxed day so have a leisurely breakfast and go on quad bikes around Lake Bunyonyi in a community tour. Visit the Batwa Community. These are the only Pygmy tribe in Uganda and see how they spend their days, a taste of a Ugandan tribe.

Day 7: Kisiizi Falls Visit, Kitagata Hot Springs tour, transfer to Ishasha sector

At 8:00 am start the drive towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. Along the way, make a stop at Kisiizi falls, where in times past, girls who got pregnant outside wedlock were thrown to their death. Your guide will narrate the dark tales as you hike up towards the platform to view the water falls. From here, proceed to Kitagata Hot springs, also used as a healing spring by the locals in the area. These healing waters attract several people with various ailments. You might even find some soaking themselves in the hope of getting cured of whatever ailment is plaguing them. Finally, arrive at your accommodation for the night at Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National park. This is the only place in Uganda where you can view the famous tree climbing lions. They normally climb the trees in the afternoon to escape the hot sun but sometimes, you can find them in the trees in the morning. So, rest up for the day.

Day 8: Morning game drive, transfer to Kibale National Park

Today, leave for the park gate as early as 6:30 am, pick a ranger and go on for a morning game drive through the Southern Circuit in search of the famous Ishasha tree climbing lions and other wild life including the Topi, herds of buffalos, Elephants and birdlife like the crown eagle. If you are lucky, you will find the Lions up the acacia trees resting. At about 9:00 am, drive out of the park on the way to Kibale forest. Your driver will take you past the top of the world for a breathtaking panoramic view of the crater lakes. Check into your hotel and rest for the day.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Habituation

Wake up early morning for breakfast, put on your comfortable walking shoes, trouser, long sleeved shirt, carry enough drinking water and a light rain coat; Now you are ready for the drive to Kanyanchu gate for briefing before starting the guided chimpanzee Habituation experience in the age-old forest of Kibale. Do not forget your packed lunch for you will be spending your day with the Chimpanzees. Follow them as they swing from tree to tree, feed, fight and go on their daily business. Catch every minute of a day in a Chimpanzee’s life from the time they leave their nest to the time they find a new nest to settle in for the night. Although spending the day with the Chimpanzees, look out for the unique Flora surrounding you as well as other primates and birdlife and depending on the sightings of the day, you might even run into some forest elephants. Your driver will be waiting to drive you back to the hotel when you return to civilization. What a way to crown your safari!

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala

Today, your driver will pick you up at 9:00 am so check out and be ready for the drive back to Kampala.

Day 11: Departure

Depending on your time of departure, you can do a city tour as well as shop for some souvenirs. Visit the religious, cultural, political sites as well as markets around the city before driving back to the Airport for the flight back home.
