Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Gorilla tracking in Uganda is undoubtedly the most sought-after activity in Uganda by people from all over the world. I dare say, the trek through the thick forests of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park under the expert guidance of the rangers to spend one hour with a family of the Gorillas is an overwhelming experience.

Uganda is still home to almost half of the world’s Gorilla population. For years, through consistent habituation, the gorilla families that are tracked have become accustomed to human presence and as such, will go on with their daily routine despite being watched.

Other than spending only one hour with the Gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park also has a full day Gorilla experience option for those who would prefer to enjoy a day in the life of the Gorillas. Here, your encounter with the Gorillas will start early morning when they wake up and the for the entire day, you will follow them around; move when they move, stop when they stop, until they turn in for the night. This experience is called the Gorilla habituation.
